Ringor Baseball Showcase Series Adds Baseball Fit Assessments |
|
|
“This service offers an evaluation of various tests of physical attributes that are directly related to playing the game of baseball,” explained Ronald Vrana, the director of the National Baseball Showcase Series. “Not only are we looking for the best players in the country, we want to help these players to attain their highest potential in the sport.” Players tested at a Ringor Baseball Showcase will receive a personalized report of their testing and information on how they compare to other athletes their age. Baseball Fit also will provide each player with information on how to improve his weaknesses. “With this information, players will know how they ‘stack up’ against other players,” said Steve Zawrotny, Director of Training for Baseball Fit. Zawrotny, a former scholarship pitcher at Brigham Young University, specializes in baseball-specific strength and conditioning. He is credited with designing programs and specialized training equipment to improve on-field performance, including the Designated Hitter Pitching Training System and the BIG Z Bat Speed Training Bat for baseball and softball players. “The tests will be administered by certified trainers and each player's results will be compared to norms for their age group. Players can use this information to make improvements that will improve on-field performance while reducing their chance of injury.” “This information can help us project the potential of an athlete,” Vrana added. “We can compare this data to future performances to evaluate progress and if the athlete is working to reach his full potential.” The Ringor Baseball Showcase Series is a series of baseball showcases across the United States that provides players with an opportunity to be seen by college coaches and professional scouts while receiving an evaluation of their talent. The best players receive an invitation to the Ringor National Baseball Showcase, August 15, in Birmingham, Alabama. Vrana said, “There is plenty of talent out there that is not getting noticed, and we want to give these players a chance to be seen by college and professional scouts. Plus, professional scouts who are most likely seeing these players for the first time do our evaluations. This allows us to give an unbiased evaluation based on how the athlete performs that day.” “Players will be allowed to show their talents at as many positions as they would like,” Vrana added. “Players often think they are better at one position, but the scouts see them fitting well at another position.” National Scouting Report promotes the events and provides the participant results and evaluations to every college baseball coach and professional organization in the country. The top players from each of the showcases in the region will move on to a regional showcase with the opportunity to receive an invitation to play in the national game.
